Explore Your Future for 10th-12th Graders (Nov 12)

This workshop is designed to help 10th-12th Graders build essential communication skills to confidently talk about their strengths, goals, and interests.

This 2-hour experience provides a supportive, engaging environment to help students practice and hear how others describe themselves.

In advance of the workshop, each participant will complete a personality and career aptitude assessment to help guide discussion and reflection. Instructions will be provided upon registration.

During the session, students will:

  • Explore a range of career tracks and identify those that align with their strengths and interests

  • Reflect on what success means to them personally

  • Identify 3-5 career paths to explore via professional networking conversations

  • Learn how to use their network strategically and ask thoughtful questions of professionals

  • Practice professional conversations related to networking, career exploration, or school selection

Intended outcomes include:

  • Increased confidence in communicating about their strengths and goals

  • Greater specificity about potential career paths

  • A deeper understanding of how to behave in a professional networking or mentoring conversation

  • Empowerment to take initiative in reaching out to professionals or trusted adults for insight and guidance
