About this Workshop

Research shows that anxiety and stress levels have increased in the past few years with teens facing significant stressors related to transitions, social media and daily pressures. Many teens experience worry, heightened irritability, withdrawal and physical symptoms.

This workshop is designed to help Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors learn practical strategies to empower them to make healthier choices for their emotional health. They will gain skills to identify how their body is responding to stressors and how they can confidentiality regulate their emotions and anxiety.

This 2-hour experience provides a supportive, engaging environment to help scouts learn more about what they need to navigate their daily world and how to form connections that can provide support.

During the session, scouts will:

  • Identify how stress, anxiety, & perfectionism show up in daily life

  • Learn to recognize signals their body & thoughts provide, & explore strategies to respond effectively

  • Understand the differences between perfectionism & healthy striving

  • Explore root causes & create a “Calm Plan”

  • Build greater confidence in handling stress & managing expectations

Intended outcomes include:

  • Increased confidence in identifying symptoms of anxiety and stress and what strategies to utilize

  • Empowered to make healthier choices that will strengthen their emotional well being

  • A deeper understanding of how to differentiate between perfectionism and healthy striving

  • Walk away with a “Calm Plan” that they can utilize to regulate their stress and emotions

Details:

  • Light snacks and beverages will be provided

  • Payment is required to reserve a spot

There are limited adult volunteer needs in this workshop - if you are interested in volunteering for the duration of the workshop, please indicate that in your registration form.
